Somerset Skills & Learning make positive changes to people’s lives, through learning. We work across Somerset, providing adult education, apprenticeships and traineeships. As well as offering skills and qualifications, we also invest heavily in community projects to help disadvantaged groups to improve their lives through learning.  The work we do is inspiring, heart-warming and humbling. We’re passionate about what we do and we’re evolving fast, with our focus on delivering quality and excellence in adult education to our local communities. We need someone who can translate our passion into creative and impactful design work - showcasing our business at its best.

That’s where you come in – a designer skilled in using Adobe Creative Cloud, you’ll help us improve our visual brand identity and create engaging, eye-catching graphics that tell our story across all media platforms– print, digital and web.

The role will be varied and fast paced, responding to design briefs from the department and different business areas. Ideally you’ll have some experience producing brochures, flyers, posters, adverts, collateral and emails across print and digital media. You’ll also need to be able to manage the print and asset production process. We’re a supportive team and there will be times when you’ll be expected to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into a range of marketing activities to meet the team’s deadlines.

In return we offer a competitive salary, a generous benefits package (including 27 days holiday pro-rata and Local Government Pension) plus we truly understand work-life balance; we place as much emphasis on your work life as we do your leisure time.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate how you are able to meet SS&L’s core values:

Colaborative * Going above & beyond * Solution focussed

Client focussed * Staff focussed * Courteous & friendly

SS&L is committed to the protection of young people and vulnerable adults and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners and expect all staff to share this commitment
