What is your role at SS&L? Sector Team Leader for the Digital Skills Team. I am responsible for managing and delivering digital skills qualifications and short courses. An important part of my role is developing and offering new courses to meet quickly changing demands in this sector.

What do you think is the most interesting aspect of your role? It is a really varied and interesting role but I particularly love working with my team to provide the courses and qualifications that make a difference to people’s lives.

What experiences of your own do you bring to SS&L? I have 20 years’ experience as a tutor of both digital skills and business and have worked as a manager in a number of organisations. I draw on the depth and blend of skills I have acquired on an almost daily basis.

What do you love about working for SS&L? All of these:

· It’s really rewarding working with adults in further education, you meet some great people.

· My lovely colleagues

· Loads of flexibility as long as the job gets done

…and there is never a dull moment!

What advice would you give to anyone considering SS&L as their training provider? Go for it…we are really friendly, small, approachable and will do our absolutely best to ensure you have a good learning experience with us.

If you were stuck in a lift with someone, who would it be and why? This is my number one phobia so the only answer here is a very competent and calm lift engineer!

What is your most annoying habit? Being driven and organised is a benefit but can be frustrating when dealing with other personality types. I try to be patient but I’m sure my impatience to get things done may show on occasions.
