What better way to celebrate the outstanding contribution an employer makes towards the growth of new talent and the support they give to their apprentices than to award them with Employer of the Year? So.....Somerset Skills & Learning are extremely pleased to announce our Employer of the Year for 2019 is the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership (MNSP).

The MNSP apprentices cover a unique range of roles from business admin, to childcare through to supporting teaching and learning in the classroom in a number of their school settings. The Partnership are keen to support and develop their apprentices towards their long-term career goals. This commitment has resulted in three individuals becoming key members of staff in the schools they have carried out their apprenticeship within. All three have progressed onto advanced apprenticeships and become permanent members of staff.

Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership says, “We strive to ensure that apprentices also gain a number of additional, yet valuable, transferable skills within our educational settings which will enhance their learning experience yet further. Our trust structure encourages cross-school collaborations and exciting networking opportunities for our apprentices.”

All apprentices who work within the MNSP are held in high regard. We understand the vital importance of ensuring they are key members of our school teams so that they can reach their full potential in a supportive environment. We recognise that apprentices arrive with different sets of skills and experiences, so we ensure that all applicants are well supported from their initial application period until the end of their apprenticeship.

Since beginning theiworking relationship with us in August 2018 the MNSP has actively recruited apprentices in 17 out of 24 schools. This clearly demonstrates their firm commitment to providing rewarding opportunities and experiences for those wishing to start work, or who are looking for a change of career. As one of the fastest growing multi academy trusts in Somerset they have championed the importance and success of apprenticeships.

Well done to all those involved and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them!
