On which course(s) are you a tutor? I  teach Digital Skills, ECDL and other IT courses.

Why did you become a tutor? I love being able to help people, to see them develop and achieve and be a part of that.

What do you think is the most interesting aspect of the course(s) you deliver? IT skills are so prominent in almost everything we do, so teaching IT in general is interesting. I personally enjoy teaching Excel but I find a lot of learners enjoy PowerPoint the most.

What experiences of your own do you bring to the course(s)? We have all had good and bad experiences in learning/customer service so I try to run my classes how I would want to be taught. What I try and do is ensure my learners have the best experience they can. I like to run a relaxed workshop where learners can feel at ease, but still learn lots and enjoy their course!

What do you love about working for Somerset Skills and Learning? I love the flexibility of the job, that the company values me as an employee and understands that I am also a mother. I always feel listened to and able to give my opinion/input and have it taken on board.

What advice would you give to anyone considering your course(s)? To step out of your comfort zone and try something new. What do you have to lose?

If you were stuck in a lift with someone, who would it be and why? David Attenborough, because he is so intelligent and full of knowledge and wisdom. Also my daughter absolutely loves animals and his documentaries so I would be able to find out lots of cool facts for her!

What is your most annoying habit? I am a bit of a stomper! I am quite heavy footed and can’t seem to delicately walk (or so my partner tells me!) haha!
