Non-Executive Director - Finance

Somerset Skills & Learning CIC is a vibrant, forward thinking provider of lifelong learning opportunities for people of all ages throughout Somerset. We are currently one of the largest providers of Community Learning & Skills and annually deliver learning to over 9,000 residents of Somerset, and work with over 500 employers.

SS&L are seeking to recruit a Non-Executive Board member with a specialism in Financial Management and Accounting, to support us as we move forward.  If you have skills relevant to the Adult Education and Training sector and a real desire to help the organisation achieve its aims and objectives, we would like to hear from you.  

  • As a voluntary position it will not be paid but travel and other expenses can be claimed. You will need to commit to attending up to 8 Board meetings per year held in Somerset. In addition, Board Members may be asked to attend Board away days, training and other events relevant to the Board member role.

Casual Tutors

We are interested in hearing from all tutors who would like to join our register of casual tutors, but particularly in the following curriculum areas: Childcare, Health & Social Care, Supporting Teaching & Learning (Teaching Assistants), English and Maths (GCSE and Functional Skills), Business Skills, Accounting, Digital Technology, Pilates and Yoga.

Maths Tutors - Freelance

SS&L are looking to engage with freelance maths tutors. We offer home and small group tuition across Somerset for GCSE and A level as well as Functional Skills. You will need to be able to travel independently and work across Somerset, have a good understanding and knowledge of the Maths curriculum, and the ability to make a difference to individual success.
