Overview

The Level 3 Certificate is ideal if you are working in Adult Social Care, or have a basic knowledge of the area and are looking to build on your existing knowledge. It comprises nine mandatory units, including:

  • Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care
  • Understanding how to handle information in social care settings
  • Principles of diversity, equality and inclusion in adult social care settings
  • Entry Requirements

  • A good standard of education, ideally with GCSEs C / D and above or equivalent
  • A patient, enthusiastic and understanding nature
  • NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent may be helpful
  • Teaching & Learning

    Tutored sessions will include powerpoints, videos, tutor led group discussions and group work. There is also a requirement of individual study, research, portfolio work.

    Progression Routes

    With the support of an employer you may be able to progress on the Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care which is a competence qualification.

    Fee Information

    To be eligible for government funded subsidised fees for this course you must:

    • Be aged 19 or over as at 31 August 2018
    • Lived in the UK/EEA for the last 3 years
    • Must currently reside in England

    You could be eligible for up to 100% reduction in published fees, dependent on the level of the qualification that you choose.  This will be discussed with you when you apply.

    If you are not eligible for the 100% Fee remission, you will be required to pay the standard costs, or in the case of Level 3, you could apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

    You might be able to apply for Discretionary Support Funds to help support these costs, please enquire at the time of Application.

    Additional Information

  • The qualifications will be assessed by means of externally set, internally marked assignments.
  • This is a rolling programme so you can start at any time of the year.
