Overview

Study for an internationally recognised qualification and demonstrate your competence in computer skills - The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL). This ECDL Extra course will help you gain valuable skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This is a level 2 course for those progressing from level 1 or further developing existing skills.

Attendance is weekly for 3 hours. There are four units in this full level 2 qualification. You can start the course at any time and will be given up to a year to complete it. There is also an option for flexible/distance learning.

ECDL single units at level 2 - single unit; start at any time; Units that can be studied are Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access databases. Please note that the free tuition optioned detailed below is not available for single units. Single units are £115 per unit and you will have up to 3 months to complete.

Entry Requirements

You will have an initial telephone conversation with a course tutor who will then determine the correct level of qualification for you. We will ensure you study the correct level and units to meet your individual learning needs. You can join one of the ECDL classes at any time, following discussion with your tutor you will be given a start date.

Progression Routes

On successful achievement of your qualification you may have the opportunity to progress to the next level. Your tutor will discuss this with you. Courses are available up to level 3.

Fee Information

To be eligible for government funded subsidised fees for this course you must:

  • Be aged 19 or over as at 31 August 2018
  • Lived in the UK/EEA for the last 3 years
  • Must currently reside in England

You could be eligible for up to 100% reduction in published fees, dependent on the level of the qualification that you choose.  This will be discussed with you when you apply.

If you are not eligible for the 100% Fee remission, you will be required to pay the standard costs, or in the case of Level 3, you could apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.
